Food Pantry

Mission: Our mission at the Islamic Center of Greensboro Food Pantry is to provide a free and confidential food pantry service to our neighbors who are in need. Our Muslim faith teaches us to take care of the hungry, sick, travelers, and the deprived. The Prophet Muhammad, peace and blessings are upon him, said, “He is not a believer whose stomach is filled while the neighbor to his side goes hungry.”

Values: Our values are compassion, integrity, honesty, human dignity, community service, charity, equity, devotion to Allah (God), confidentiality, and respect.

How the process works: At the Islamic Center of Greensboro Food Pantry, we strive to provide a free and confidential food pantry that is available to all, both Muslims and non-Muslims alike. We at the Islamic Center of Greensboro believe all human beings have a right to food security. The concept is that we have a community pantry that is open to anyone who needs it. If you wish to donate to the pantry, you can drop off non-perishable food donations at the masjid drop-off. If you are in need, you can walk in (during operating hours) with a bag and fill it with what you need, no questions asked. We are a free and confidential service to preserve dignity and respect for all.

How to help: If you believe in the values and mission of our food pantry and want to help, we encourage everyone to donate to fill the pantry and also make monetary donations to the program so that we can continue to provide a much-needed service for the community. **Please do not bring expired non-perishable items to the pantry. ** Please click on the Donate icon for monetary donations.
